How to Add a Custom Domain to FitMetrics

Custom domains are available only on the Business Package. Learn how to connect your own branded subdomain (e.g., portal.yourbusiness.com) for AI Forms, Leaderboard, Blood Test Portal, and the Course Builder.

⭐ What Is a Custom Domain?

A custom domain allows you to replace all FitMetrics URLs with your own brand.

With a custom domain:

  • All AI Form links use your domain

  • Your Leaderboard is fully branded

  • Your Blood Test Portal runs under your domain

  • Your Course Builder (required for blood test add-on) works only with a custom domain

  • Your clients see your brand, not FitMetrics

🔐 Requirement: Business Package Only

Custom domains are only available for: ✔ Business Package subscribers

If you are on Essential or Starter → upgrade is required.

🎯 Recommended Format for Your Domain

We only support subdomains, not root/apex domains.

Recommended:

👉 portal.yourbusiness.com

Other examples:

  • members.yourbusiness.com

  • clients.yourbusiness.com

  • dashboard.yourbusiness.com

🛠️ How to Add Your Custom Domain

Step 1 — Open Custom Domain Settings

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Scroll to Blood Test Add-On

  3. Click Custom Domain

  4. Enter your desired subdomain
    (Example: portal.yourbusiness.com)

Step 2 — Add DNS Record to Your Domain Provider

After entering your subdomain in FitMetrics, you must configure DNS.

Add the following DNS record:

Name (Host)

Value

CNAME

portal (or the subdomain you chose)

e4c5435daf1faf70.vercel-dns-016.com

This tells your domain where to point your FitMetrics portal.

🌐 How to Add DNS Settings (Platform Examples)

Below are common registrars and where to add your DNS record.

GoDaddy

  1. Log into GoDaddy

  2. Go to Domains

  3. Click on your domain

  4. Open DNS Management

  5. Click Add Record

  6. Select CNAME

  7. Host: portal

  8. Points to: e4c5435daf1faf70.vercel-dns-016.com

  9. Save

Propagation: usually 5–15 minutes (sometimes up to 1 hour)

Squarespace Domains

  1. Log into Squarespace

  2. Go to Domains

  3. Select your domain

  4. Click DNS Settings

  5. Scroll to Custom Records

  6. Add a CNAME

  7. Host: portal

  8. Data: e4c5435daf1faf70.vercel-dns-016.com

  9. Save

Propagation: 5–30 minutes

Cloudflare

  1. Log into Cloudflare

  2. Select your domain

  3. Go to DNS

  4. Click Add Record

  5. Type: CNAME

  6. Name: portal

  7. Target: e4c5435daf1faf70.vercel-dns-016.com

  8. Set Proxy OFF (DNS Only)

  9. Save

Propagation: almost instant

Namecheap

  1. Log into Namecheap

  2. Go to Domain List

  3. Click Manage

  4. Go to Advanced DNS

  5. Add CNAME

  6. Host: portal

  7. Value: e4c5435daf1faf70.vercel-dns-016.com

  8. Save

Propagation: 15–30 minutes

Google Domains (Now managed under Squarespace)

If your domain was previously on Google Domains → it now exists inside Squarespace.

Follow the Squarespace section above.

⏳ DNS Propagation Time

After adding the CNAME record:

  • Most domains work within 5–30 minutes

  • Some can take up to 1–2 hours

  • Rare cases (e.g., TTL caching) may take up to 24 hours

FitMetrics will automatically activate your domain once DNS is detected.

🎉 What Happens After Connecting?

Once DNS is active:

  • Your FitMetrics portal loads at
    👉 https://portal.yourbusiness.com

  • All AI Forms automatically update to your domain

  • Your Leaderboard is fully branded

  • Blood Test Portal becomes accessible

  • Course Builder activates (if enabled)

  • Clients never see fitmetrics.ai URLs again

This creates a professional, seamless brand experience.

⚠️ Important Notes

✅ Only subdomains are allowed

We do NOT support apex/root domains like yourbusiness.com.

❌ Do not add “https://”

Only enter the subdomain name, example:
​portal.yourbusiness.com

❗ No A records required

Only a CNAME should be created.

❓ FAQ

Q: Can I use multiple custom domains?

No — one custom domain per workspace.

Q: Can I change my domain later?

Yes. Update your DNS & FitMetrics settings anytime.

Q: What if my DNS doesn’t connect?

Common causes:

  • Typo in the CNAME value

  • Wrong host name

  • Proxy enabled (Cloudflare)

  • Incorrect domain provider

  • You might need to wait up to 24 hours for propagation.

Contact support if needed.

Q: Is SSL (https) included?

Yes — SSL is auto-generated and free.

Q: Do Basic Clients see the domain?

Everyone accessing:

  • Forms

  • Leaderboard

  • Blood Test Portal

  • Course Builder

…will see your branded domain.
