Why “Waiting for a Reply” Doesn’t Disappear in Trainerize Messages

If “Waiting for a Reply” won’t clear, the client likely has another message thread. Here’s how to find and fix it.

In FitMetrics → Trainerize Messages, you may sometimes see a notification showing that a client is “Waiting for a Reply”, even after:

  • You already replied OR

  • You marked the message as “No Reply Needed”

This happens because the client has more than one active message thread, and the unread message is in a different thread, not the one you are currently viewing.

Trainerize allows multiple threads per client (for example, from different coaches, old conversations, or reactivated threads).

FitMetrics shows the waiting indicator if any of those threads has an unanswered message.

How to Fix It

Follow these steps to locate the missing thread:

1. Go to Trainerize Messages

Open the conversation for the client showing the “Waiting for a Reply” notification.

2. Open the Threads panel

At the top-left of the conversation area, you’ll see a menu labeled Threads (as shown in the screenshot).

Click it.

3. Review all threads

A side panel will open showing every message thread the client has.

Look for:

  • A thread with a yellow or “Waiting for reply” indicator

  • A thread marked Unread

This thread contains the message causing the notification.

4. Open the thread and reply

Click the thread. Inside you can:

  • Send a reply OR

  • Mark it as No Reply Needed

Once you clear that specific message, the “Waiting for a Reply” icon will disappear everywhere.

Summary

If “Waiting for a Reply” won’t clear:

  • The client likely has multiple threads

  • The unanswered message is in a different thread

  • Open Threads → check all threads → reply or mark as no reply needed

Problem solved.
