You can control which clients have access to AI Meal Analysis and add notes about their dietary preferences — all from the Client Configuration tab.

How to Access Client Configuration

  1. Click Client Configuration in the sidebar

You will see a table listing all your active Trainerize clients with three columns: Client, Custom Notes, and AI Meal Analysis (toggle).

Enable or Disable Meal Analysis Per Client

Each client has an AI Meal Analysis toggle in the rightmost column of the table.

  • Enabled (default) — The client can use AI Meal Analysis to scan meals

  • Disabled — The AI will not analyze this client's meals

By default, all clients are enabled. To disable a specific client, simply toggle the switch off. Changes take effect immediately.

Add Custom Notes for the AI

Each client row has a Custom Notes text field where you can record dietary information, such as:

  • Allergies (e.g., "nut allergy", "lactose intolerant")

  • Dietary preferences (e.g., "vegan", "halal", "gluten-free")

  • Coaching notes (e.g., "focus on protein", "reducing sugar intake")

Notes auto-save after you stop typing for 1 second — no need to click a save button.

These notes are sent directly to the AI as priority instructions when analyzing that client's meals. The AI will consider the dietary preferences, allergies, and restrictions you specify when generating nutrition feedback. The more context you provide, the more personalized and relevant the feedback will be.

Search and Filter Clients

Search

Use the search bar at the top to find clients by name or email.

Smart View Filter

Use the Filter by Smart View dropdown to narrow the client list using your saved Smart Views from the Trainerize Clients page.

This is useful if you want to manage meal analysis access for a specific group — for example, enabling it only for clients on a nutrition-focused program.

The client count updates in real time as you search or filter.

Important Notes

  • Clients that are excluded (via excluded coaches, emails, or tags in your business settings) will not appear in this list

  • If AI Meal Analysis is disabled globally in General Settings, the toggles and notes fields will be greyed out

  • Changes take effect immediately — no page refresh required
