How to Add or Remove Trainerize Tags in FitMetrics

Add, remove, create, rename, and delete Trainerize tags directly from the FitMetrics Clients table — changes sync to Trainerize instantly.

You can manage Trainerize tags directly from the Trainerize Clients table. All changes sync to Trainerize instantly.


Adding a Tag to a Client

  1. Find the client's row and look at the Tags column

  2. Click the + (Add Tag) button

  3. A searchable dropdown appears — type to search or scroll through available tags

  4. Click the tag you want to add — it's applied immediately


Removing a Tag from a Client

  1. Find the client's row in the table

  2. Click on the tag badge you want to remove (the purple badges in the Tags column)

  3. The tag is removed immediately

If the client has more than 2 tags, click +X more to see all tags, then click any tag to remove it.


Creating a New Tag

If the tag you need doesn't exist yet:

  1. Click + (Add Tag) on any client

  2. Type the tag name in the search box

  3. If no match is found, click Create Tag

  4. The new tag is created in Trainerize and assigned to the client


Managing All Tags

Click Manage All Tags at the bottom of the tag dropdown to open the Tag Manager. From there you can:

  • Create new tags — type a name and press Enter

  • Rename tags — click the pencil icon, type the new name, confirm

  • Delete tags — click the trash icon. This removes the tag from all clients and cannot be undone.


Why Tags Matter

Tags are used throughout FitMetrics for:

  • Automation triggers — "Tag Added" and "Tag Removed" triggers fire automations

  • Automation filters — "New Client Added" automations can filter by tag (e.g., only fire for "Low Ticket" clients)

  • Smart Views — filter clients by tags

  • Billing exclusions — exclude clients with specific tags from billing
