Testing Your Setup

Learn how to create a Trainerize test client, verify data sync, test AI messaging, and troubleshoot common issues.

Step 1: Create a Test Client in Trainerize

  1. Log in to Trainerize.

  2. Go to Clients → New.

  3. Add your email address, and set the first and last name exactly as they appear on your FitMetrics owner account.

  4. Click Add and Send Invite.


Step 2: Sync the New Client in FitMetrics


Step 3: Retrieve the Client’s Threads

  1. Go to Trainerize Clients in FitMetrics.

  2. Search for the test account you just created.

3. Scroll to the “Threads” column in the table.

4. Click the Sync Threads button to retrieve the client’s messaging thread.

  • Important: Without thread syncing, you won’t be able to send messages to this client from FitMetrics.


Step 4: Test AI Messaging

  1. Open the Trainerize iPhone app (as a client).

    • Tip: Keep both apps on your phone:

      • Trainerize (Coach login)

      • Your Custom Branded App (Client login)

  2. Log in as the client (test account).

  3. Send a message like “Test”.

  4. Confirm that the message appears inside FitMetrics → Trainerize Messages.

    • If it appears, your integration is working successfully.


Step 5: Troubleshooting

  • Client not showing in FitMetrics?

    • Click Sync manually and wait 1–5 minutes.

  • Threads not appearing?

    • Click the Sync Threads button again.

  • Messages not syncing?

    • Make sure you’re logged in as the client (not the coach) in Trainerize when sending the test message.
