Each Trainerize Group has settings you can configure to control notifications, who can post, and what gets automatically shared. This article covers all available group settings.

Accessing Group Settings

  1. Hover over the group and click the three-dot menu (⋮)

  2. Select Settings

Notification Settings

Control how you receive notifications for a group. Choose from three options:

  • All — receive notifications for every new message in the group

  • Mentions — only receive notifications when someone @mentions you

  • None — mute the group entirely, no notifications

This setting only affects your own notifications — it does not change notifications for other group members.

Post Permissions

Control who can send messages in the group:

  • Anyone — all group members (clients and coaches) can post messages

  • Leaders only — only trainers with the Leader role can post. Regular members can still read messages but cannot send new ones

Use "Leaders only" when you want to use a group as an announcement channel where coaches share updates without client replies.

Auto-Post Settings

Enable or disable automatic activity posts in the group. When enabled, member activities are automatically shared to the group. Toggle each type independently:

  • Workouts — automatically post when a member completes a workout

  • Cardio — automatically post when a member logs a cardio activity

  • Nutrition goals — automatically post when a member hits their nutrition targets

  • Nutrition logs — automatically post when a member logs their meals

  • Habits — automatically post when a member completes a habit

Auto-posts encourage accountability and friendly competition among group members.
