Trainerize Groups are group chat threads where multiple clients can interact with each other and with coaches — all visible and manageable inside FitMetrics.
Unlike Broadcast Messages (which send individual messages to each client privately), Groups are shared conversations where everyone in the group sees the same messages.
Where to Find Groups
Click Trainerize Groups in the sidebar (under Management). You'll see all group chats your business is part of.
What You Can Do
View all group conversations — see the full message history for each group
Send messages — type and send messages to the group directly from FitMetrics
Send attachments — share files, images, and documents with the group
See member lists — view who is in each group and their roles (owner, member, etc.)
View reactions — see emoji reactions on messages
How Groups Are Created
Groups are created and managed in Trainerize, not in FitMetrics. FitMetrics syncs your existing Trainerize groups and lets you interact with them.
To create a new group:
Open the Trainerize app (web or mobile)
Go to Messages → Groups
Create a new group and add clients
The group will automatically appear in FitMetrics
Use Cases for Groups
Community building — create a group for all clients to share wins and motivate each other
Program cohorts — group clients who started the same program together
Challenges — run fitness challenges with a dedicated group chat
VIP clients — create an exclusive group for premium clients
Team communication — coordinate between coaches in a staff group

Adding Clients to Groups via Automations
You can automatically add clients to a Trainerize group using Automations. Use the "Add to Trainerize Group" action in any automation workflow.
Example: When a new client is added with tag "Weight Loss", automatically add them to your "Weight Loss Community" group.
