Quick Responses are saved message templates you can insert into any conversation with one click. Save your most common replies — motivational messages, reminders, check-in prompts — and reuse them across all clients.
How to Use a Quick Response
Open a client conversation in Trainerize Messages
Click the bookmark icon in the message composer toolbar (tooltip: "Quick responses")
A popup opens showing your saved templates
Click any template to insert it into the message composer
Edit if needed, then send
Keyboard navigation: Use arrow keys to browse templates, Enter to select, Escape to close. Type to search/filter.
Frequently Used
The popup shows your top 3 most-used templates at the top in a "Frequently used" section. All other templates appear below in the "All templates" section.
Creating & Managing Templates
Open the Quick Responses popup
Click Manage
The Template Manager opens with:
Left panel: All templates grouped by category
Right panel: Create/edit form
Template Fields
Title — a name for the template (e.g., "Monday Motivation")
Category — organize by: General, Motivation, Reminders, Check-Ins, Tips, Nutrition, Workout
Message — the template text
Save with the button or press Cmd+Enter (Mac) / Ctrl+Enter (Windows).
Placeholders
Use these placeholders in your templates — they're replaced with real client data when inserted:
{client_first_name}— the client's first name{client_name}— the client's full name
Example: "Great job this week {client_first_name}! Your consistency is really paying off."
The Template Manager shows a live preview with placeholders replaced so you can see exactly what the client will receive.
Default Examples
If you haven't created any templates yet, you'll see example templates to get you started: Workout Reminder, Great Progress, Check-in, Motivation, Rest Day, and Nutrition Tip. These are marked with an "Example" badge.
Important Notes
Templates are shared across your business — all team members see the same template library
Templates are inserted at the cursor position in the composer, replacing any selected text
There is no limit on the number of templates you can create
