Quick Responses are saved message templates you can insert into any conversation with one click. Save your most common replies — motivational messages, reminders, check-in prompts — and reuse them across all clients.

How to Use a Quick Response

  1. Open a client conversation in Trainerize Messages

  2. Click the bookmark icon in the message composer toolbar (tooltip: "Quick responses")

  3. A popup opens showing your saved templates

  4. Click any template to insert it into the message composer

  5. Edit if needed, then send

Keyboard navigation: Use arrow keys to browse templates, Enter to select, Escape to close. Type to search/filter.

Frequently Used

The popup shows your top 3 most-used templates at the top in a "Frequently used" section. All other templates appear below in the "All templates" section.

Creating & Managing Templates

  1. Open the Quick Responses popup

  2. Click Manage

  3. The Template Manager opens with:

    • Left panel: All templates grouped by category

    • Right panel: Create/edit form

Template Fields

  • Title — a name for the template (e.g., "Monday Motivation")

  • Category — organize by: General, Motivation, Reminders, Check-Ins, Tips, Nutrition, Workout

  • Message — the template text

Save with the button or press Cmd+Enter (Mac) / Ctrl+Enter (Windows).

Placeholders

Use these placeholders in your templates — they're replaced with real client data when inserted:

  • {client_first_name} — the client's first name

  • {client_name} — the client's full name

Example: "Great job this week {client_first_name}! Your consistency is really paying off."

The Template Manager shows a live preview with placeholders replaced so you can see exactly what the client will receive.

Default Examples

If you haven't created any templates yet, you'll see example templates to get you started: Workout Reminder, Great Progress, Check-in, Motivation, Rest Day, and Nutrition Tip. These are marked with an "Example" badge.

Important Notes

  • Templates are shared across your business — all team members see the same template library

  • Templates are inserted at the cursor position in the composer, replacing any selected text

  • There is no limit on the number of templates you can create
