We recommend a 4-message check-in system that blends AI automation with human support. Here’s how it looks:

✅ Monday — Full Feedback (AI)

Send a full weekly summary using the AI Check-In system.

  • Recap workouts, macros, habits, and other metrics

  • Point out wins & challenges

  • Share next steps, targets, or encouragement

    This is the heavy-lifting message and sets the tone for the week.

🙋‍♀️ Tuesday — Human Follow-Up

Have a real coach check in with a quick message:

“Hey {{client_first_name}}, did you see your check-in from yesterday? Any questions or need help adjusting anything?”

This shows you’re present, listening, and creates trust.

📊 Friday — Weekend Feedback (AI)

This AI message calculates Monday–Friday data:

  • Current calorie/macros average vs. goal

📌 Important Note: AI Check-Ins Cannot Be Sent to Coaches

A common question we get:

“Can the AI scrape all my clients’ weekly data and send it to me instead, so I can review it?”

The answer is no — AI Check-Ins can only be sent to clients, not to coaches, not to external emails, and not to yourself.

However, you can review the AI-generated summary before it sends to the client:

  1. Go to AI → AI Check-Ins

  2. Choose a template (or create your own)

  3. Click Test

  4. Select any Trainerize client

  5. Click Preview & Edit

  6. You can read the full AI summary

  7. Then choose to Send or Cancel

This allows you to see exactly what the AI will generate — but the automated message delivery always goes to the assigned client, not to coaches.

This keeps data consistent, prevents accidental misuse, and ensures the system remains aligned with how Trainerize and FitMetrics structure client communication.
