How to Link Unmatched Payments to Clients in the Payments Tracker

When a Stripe or Whop payment doesn't automatically match to a Trainerize client, here's how to manually link them using Search & Link.

FitMetrics automatically matches Stripe and Whop payments to Trainerize clients by email address. When the purchase email matches the Trainerize client email, the link happens instantly.

But sometimes emails don't match — here's how to fix it.

How to Spot Unmatched Payments

In the Payments Tracker, unmatched clients show:

  • A link icon (S for Stripe, W for Whop) next to their name in the Status column

  • Status shows "No Subscription" even though you know they're paying

You can also filter the table by Status → No Subscription to find all unmatched clients quickly.

How to Link a Payment

  1. Find the unmatched client in the Payments Tracker

  2. Click the link icon (S or W) next to their name

  3. A Search & Link dialog opens

  4. Start typing the client's name or email — FitMetrics searches your Stripe customers or Whop members in real time

  5. Select the correct match

  6. Click Link

Once linked:

  • All past payments from that customer appear immediately

  • All future payments will be tracked automatically

  • The link is permanent — you only need to do this once per client

Why Emails Don't Match

Common reasons:

  • Client used a different email for Stripe/Whop than for Trainerize

  • Client paid with a spouse's card (different email on the payment)

  • Client has multiple email addresses

  • Stripe customer was created before the client joined Trainerize

Important Notes

  • You do NOT need to change emails or re-charge clients — just link them

  • Linking works for both Stripe and Whop

  • If you have multiple Stripe accounts, make sure you're viewing the correct account (use the account selector dropdown)

  • FitMetrics is read-only — linking only connects data, it does not create or modify any payments
