The Leaderboard isn't just a feature — it's a game-changer when used right. Here's how real businesses are turning it into a powerful tool for engagement, motivation, and results.

Gym Owner Spotlight: Leaderboard on TV 24/7

One of our users — a gym owner — installed TVs inside his gym and displays the public leaderboard on loop. Clients walk in, see their name moving up (or down), and instantly feel the motivation.

At the end of every month, he gives rewards to the top 3 clients — boosting accountability and creating a strong community culture.

Reward Ideas to Get You Started

Here are some prize and incentive ideas that go beyond just points:

  • Free 1:1 Coaching Call — offer a private session to the top performer. High value, no extra cost.

  • Membership Extension — give one free extra week or month of coaching for leaderboard winners.

  • Merch or Supplements — send a branded T-shirt, water bottle, or supplement. Adds physical excitement to the challenge.

  • Shoutouts on Social Media — celebrate winners with a featured story or post on your Instagram or Facebook.

  • Exclusive Access — unlock a hidden workout program, bonus recipe pack, or educational content for top-ranked clients.

  • Group Zoom Call — host a monthly group call for the top 5 to break down progress and build stronger relationships.

Competition Ideas

Use scoring modes and time periods to create different types of challenges:

  • 30-Day Weight Loss Challenge — switch to "Weight Loss Only" mode, set time period to "Last 30 Days"

  • Weekly Workout Streak — use "Workouts Only" mode with "Last 7 Days" to see who's the most consistent each week

  • Habit Completion Game — "Habits Only" mode to track who logs the most habits over time

  • Steps Showdown — "Steps Only" mode with Totals calculation to see who walks the most

  • Nutrition Compliance Wars — "Nutrition Only" mode to rank by adherence to calories and macros

Run Multiple Competitions with Smart Views

Use Smart View filters on the leaderboard to run separate competitions for different client groups. For example:

  • A "Beginners" smart view for new clients competing against each other

  • A "Weight Loss Program" smart view for clients in a specific program

  • A "VIP Clients" smart view for your premium coaching group

Each smart view can have its own public leaderboard link, so different groups see only their own competition.

Celebrate with Achievements

Achievement badges add another layer of motivation. Clients earn badges like Perfect Workout Warrior, Nutrition Pro, or Consistency King/Queen — giving them goals to chase beyond just the overall ranking. You can customize achievement thresholds in Settings to match your coaching style.

Keep It Fresh

Change the scoring mode every month. One month it's weight loss. Next month it's steps. Then workouts. This keeps clients engaged, guessing, and coming back for more.

You can also set up scheduled posts to Trainerize Groups — weekly or monthly — so results are automatically shared without you lifting a finger.

Start using the Leaderboard not just as a tracker — but as your built-in motivation engine.
