FitMetrics comes with 3 pre-built Smart Habit templates that deliver AI-powered messages to your clients when they complete the habit in Trainerize. Here's what each one does in detail.
Daily Outlook
Category: Education
Best completed: In the morning
What the client sees: "Complete this in the morning to get your personalized game plan for today."
What the AI Sends
When the client completes this habit, the AI generates a detailed daily briefing covering:
Today's workout preview — exercise-by-exercise coaching tips for the scheduled workout, including sets, reps, form cues, and rest recommendations
Nutrition targets — exact macro numbers and calorie goals for the day (e.g., "Hit 150g protein, 250g carbs, 50g fat"), plus pre- and post-workout meal timing
Habit priorities — which habits to focus on today
Mindset prep — motivational framing for the day ahead
Rest day alternative — on rest days, the AI switches to recovery protocols: active recovery suggestions, mobility work, sleep optimization, and adjusted macro targets
Best for: Clients who want structure and a clear plan each morning.
Nutrition Report Card
Category: Nutrition
Best completed: After logging meals
What the client sees: "Complete this after logging meals to get personalized feedback on your nutrition."
What the AI Sends
The AI analyzes the client's logged meals and generates:
Macro snapshot vs targets — how close they are to their calorie, protein, carb, and fat goals with exact numbers (e.g., "776 kcal / 1500 kcal target = 52% of daily goal")
Meal-by-meal breakdown — analysis of each meal logged, with smart choices identified and specific improvement suggestions
Remaining macros needed — exactly what they still need to eat, with specific food suggestions and portions
Tomorrow's adjustments — one specific behavior change, meal prep action item, or quality upgrade for the next day
If no meals are logged, the AI will prompt the client to start logging their meals in the app.
Best for: Clients working on nutrition compliance who need daily accountability.
Daily Motivation
Category: Motivation
Best completed: Anytime
What the client sees: "Complete this anytime to get a personalized motivational boost."
What the AI Sends
The AI delivers a personalized pep talk that includes:
Goal-specific encouragement — references the client's actual goal (weight loss, muscle gain, etc.) and connects today's actions to their bigger vision
Streak recognition — acknowledges workout streaks, consistency, and specific numbers to show their progress
Motivational quote — every message ends with an inspiring quote from a fitness or success icon (Arnold Schwarzenegger, David Goggins, Kobe Bryant, etc.)
Best for: Clients who need an extra push, especially during tough phases.
How to Assign Templates
Go to Smart Habits
Click + on a client (or select multiple for bulk)
Select the Smart Habit tab
Check the templates you want to assign (you can select multiple at once)
Set start date, duration (weeks), and which days
Click Assign Habits
Editing Template Prompts
You can customize what the AI sends by editing the prompt on any of your custom Smart Habits.
Click Habits Editor at the top of the Smart Habits page
Find the habit you want to change under Your Custom Smart Habits
Click Edit
Update the Habit Name or AI Prompt
Click Save Changes
Changes apply to all future AI responses for that habit. Existing messages already sent are not affected.
What AI Messages Look Like
AI messages are sent as plain text via Trainerize chat. They do not include bold text, links, or special formatting — just clean, readable plain text optimized for mobile.
The AI uses the client's actual data to personalize every message:
Goals, body stats, and unit system (metric or imperial)
Today's workout schedule (exercises, sets, reps)
Nutrition logs and macro targets
Current habit streak and longest streak
Training program name and duration
If you've set an AI language preference for a client or at the business level in Preferences, the AI will generate the message in that language.
Creating Your Own Templates
Use the Custom tab when assigning habits, or click + Create in the Habits Editor, to create habits with your own AI prompt. Categories available:
Motivation — inspire and energize clients
Education — share knowledge and daily plans
Accountability — keep clients on track
Nutrition — nutrition feedback and guidance
Wellness — general wellbeing and recovery
The AI prompt you write determines exactly what message the client receives when they complete the habit. You have full control over the tone, content, and focus. The AI will combine your prompt with the client's real data to generate a unique response every time.
