FitMetrics includes native video hosting for your course lessons — no need for external platforms. You can also embed videos from YouTube or Vimeo.

How to Add a Video

  1. Open your course in the Course Builder

  2. Select the lesson you want to add video to

  3. Make sure Edit mode is toggled ON (top right)

  4. In the lesson editor, type / and select Video from the menu

  5. A dialog opens with 3 options:

Option 1: Upload a Video (Native Hosting)

Upload directly to FitMetrics.

  1. Click the Upload tab

  2. Drag and drop your video or click Select Video

  3. Click Upload Video

  4. Wait for processing:

    • Uploading — shows progress bar with percentage

    • Processing — "Your video is being processed. This may take a few minutes."

    • Ready — video is embedded and playable

Supported formats: MP4, MOV, AVI, WebM

Maximum file size: 5GB

Tip: If you navigate away during processing, the upload continues in the background. You'll see a progress indicator for other lessons that are still processing.

Option 2: Paste a URL

Embed from YouTube, Vimeo:

  1. Click the URL tab

  2. Paste the video URL

  3. Click Add

Option 3: Embed Code

Paste any HTML embed code:

  1. Click the Embed code tab

  2. Paste the embed HTML

  3. Click Add

Video Duration

When you upload a video using the native uploader, the lesson duration is automatically set from the video length. You can also set it manually in the lesson settings.

Theater Mode (Client View)

When clients watch video lessons, they can click the expand button to enter Theater Mode — a dark, wide-screen view that hides the sidebar and focuses on the video. Press Escape to exit.

Other Content in Lessons

Videos are just one part of a lesson. Using the / slash command, you can also add:

  • Text, Headings (H1, H2, H3)

  • Bullet lists, Numbered lists

  • Quotes, Code blocks

  • Task lists (interactive checklists)

You can also add Resources (downloadable files/links) and a Transcript (collapsible text section) via the lesson settings panel.
